Dallas staycation activity - visit Preston Trail Farms
The temperature is rising and it’s time to start planning a fun summer staycation activity for your kids of all ages.  In the Dallas-Ft. Worth (DFW) area there are so many wonderful places to go on family outings.  This week My DFW Mommy, Laura Thornquist, published her Summer Staycation Guide.  In it she covers Texas Culture, Science Museums, Art Museums, Historical Museums, Transportation Fun, Astronomy Centers, Aviation Museums, Aquariums and Fishing, Theaters and Music, Water Fun, Ice Skating and Rolle Skating, Amusement Parks and Entertainment Centers, Sports, Horseback Riding, Nature and our favorite…Animals, Farms and Petting Zoos! Preston Trail Farms is proud to be included in her Staycation recommendations!

“From feeding the animals to playing in the wildflowers the kids were in heaven!”

If you are planning a family outing at Preston Trail Farms, you can make a day of it.  We are open all week long and serve breakfast and lunch Sunday through Thursday in the Cafe and breakfast, lunch and dinner on Friday and Saturday.  Our covered patio is great for outside dining and for a picnic or snacks.  As a recent visitor kindly shared on Facebook, “From feeding the animals to playing in the wildflowers they (the children) were in heaven. There are tractors to play on, and other photo opportunities, as well as a practice steer and lasso out on the grounds. We had a late breakfast that was delicious and sat outside and enjoyed the farm while we ate. The owner stopped and introduced himself and chatted with us for a spell. The staff too, were so friendly and all made us feel so welcome. We picked up some bluebonnet seeds and a few little toys from their shop on the way out! It was a perfect day!”

So if you are planning to stay in town this summer and looking for a staycation activity, or have friends and family coming to visit, be sure to come to Preston Trail Farms and stay a while. Summer Staycation…it’s fun at the farm!
